What makes Crystal Cabinets green?

• Plywood cabinet boxes are made with soy-based glue and are no-added-formaldehyde (NAF), meaning that the only source of formaldehyde is a natural part of wood.

• Certified low-emitting coatings are available that are formaldehyde-free and GreenGuard Gold certified, the industry standard for low-emitting coatings.

• Maple and Cherry premium cabinets are 100% Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified. (This option is temporarily unavailable due to COVID). Crystal’s chain of custody certification tracks FSC®-certified material from the forest to the consumer, allowing consumers to have confidence the wood in their cabinets comes from well-managed forests.

• All composite wood products are California Air Resources Board (CARB-II) certified, and NAF options are available

• Cabinet packaging is made with post-consumer recycled content cardboard: (corrugated media - 100%, liner - 13 to 30%)

• Crystal Cabinets are manufactured in a Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association Environmental Stewardship Program (KCMA ESP) certified facility. Manufacturer certification is awarded annually based on compliance in five categories: air quality & pollution prevention, resource sustainability, waste minimization, environmental stewardship and community relations.

  The ESP goes beyond other environmental programs by taking a holistic approach to certification, holding the industry to high standards for their products, forest sustainability and manufacturing processes.
